XtremeAxis is capable of working on buildings that are located in areas with smaller streets including congested city centres and suburban areas.

Specializing in Rope Access Services

BEVA Inspections

Starting in 2017, building envelope inspections for buildings above five stories became mandatory in Calgary. These annual inspections ensure your building is in good standing order. XtremeAxis is capable of setting up and taking down our equipment, all with no impact to your building’s exterior.

Caulking

Caulking is an important element in having a weather-resistant seal on your building. These projects usually require scaffoldings, swing stages and boom trucks but using rope access instead eliminates the need for these elements, saving you time and money.

Roof Anchor Inspections

XtremeAxis is a Level 3 Calgary rope access company which means we specialize in all areas of design, installation and maintenance of building anchor systems. We can load test roof anchors with electronic load cells and provide digital documentation for your record keeping.

Balcony Restoration

Calgary’s weather can wreak havoc on concrete balconies, even the smallest crack or spalling can allow water to enter and damage the metal reinforcement. XtremeAxis has years of experience pouring cement at various heights, as well as applying waterproofing membranes as needed.

Brick Replacement and Repointing

As your building weathers Calgary’s ever-changing environmental conditions, brick repointing and replacement is simply a fact of life. Implementing a brick maintenance program can help prevent weathering and decay between the bricks and water entering your highrise building.

Glass Replacement

Our innovative rope access guarantees minimal disturbance to your operations, the public and your tenants. Glass replacements or upgrades can be completed without any road closures or large cranes. By going with rope access, you save money on installation and downtime.

Parkade Restoration

Parkades are an important part of any commercial property. But over the winter months, they can deteriorate due to salt, snow and ice that comes in with vehicles. Parkade restorations help restore, maintain and repair any damage to your parkade.

Bird Hole Damage or Bird Hole Repair

When bird holes show up in the exterior stucco, prompt repair is essential. These are often located in hard-to-reach areas, but if they are ignored the nesting holes become huge inside the wall cavity and create many issues for the overall structure.

High Rise Window Cleaning

Rope access is one of the best methods for high-rise window cleaning. This method is a faster and gentler approach than swing stages and lifts. There is a greatly reduced risk of damage to your building, of injury to workers, and injury to the general public.

Our Certifications

XtremeAxis takes great pride in being run by SPRAT or IRATA Certified Technicians, this certification allows us to access difficult-to-reach areas — legally, safely and cost-effectively. Each technician is first aid trained and complies with our company’s safety program.

Our Commitment to Safety

Rope access is a safe system that allows certified technicians to access high work areas while keeping costs and disruption at a minimum. The technique uses a two-rope system that optimizes safety, efficiency and does minimal disturbance to residents. All of our technicians are certified with either SPRAT or IRATA, or both, and have rigorous training every 2 years.

SPRAT Certified
SPRAT stands for the Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians. SPRAT is a North American organization that helps set industry standards, provides education and administers certificates. This certification means that a rope access technician has passed 3 tests: written, verbal, and a hands-on physical performance-based test assessed by a SPRAT certified Evaluator.

Why Choose us?

Client Reviews

“The west side of the stadium is a maze of concrete beams and columns that needed to have concrete sealer applied, and the team was able to maneuver through this maze and apply the necessary sealer.

Xtremeaxis team is well trained and only did the work when it was safe to do so.

Would hire this team again with no reservations.”

FAQs

What is Rope Access?

Rope Access uses certified and qualified technicians that utilize a 2 rope system to reach difficult or otherwise impossible to reach areas in order to perform certain work tasks like BEVA inspections, roof anchor inspections, glass replacement and more. What makes rope access unique is that these technicians are able to complete jobs quickly, cost-efficiently and with minimal disruption to the building or residents.

Is Rope Access safe?

Yes! Rope access is one of the safer industries despite common belief. In fact, rope access actually has fewer deaths or accidents than similar industries like electricians.

Since ropes are utilized to access difficult locations either above or below the ground, this makes rope access solutions ideal for working at certain heights.

How can Rope Access save me time and money?

Depending on the type of job you need to complete, choosing a rope access company like XtremeAxis saves you time and money when compared to traditional access solutions like building scaffolding or hiring cranes/lift stages.

By having a smaller highly trained crew of rope access technicians, you can save significant costs. Costs such as labour for set up and tear down of scaffolding platforms, or renting lifts and specialized cranes can all be avoided since rope access does not require the use of these elements.

Additionally, rope access is more accessible than these other means of access. Since no need for scaffolding or heavy equipment is necessary, rope access can be used to complete jobs on smaller streets without the need for lane closures or changing/redoing landscaping.
